Projects
Comprehensive energy refurbishment of the Hans Appel Hall in Göllhei

Background
The Hans-Appel-Halle in Göllheim was built in 1979 and is owned by the municipality of Göllheim.
The sports hall is regularly used by the adjacent elementary school, the Gutenberg School and numerous clubs for sports lessons and competitions.
Project
The municipality of Göllheim is planning an energy-efficient renovation of the sports hall in order to restore the fabric of the building and reduce maintenance costs in the future as energy prices rise, as well as to adapt the building technology to the current state of the art.
To finance the project, the municipality of Göllheim successfully took part in a two-stage funding procedure of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the "Investment for jobs and growth" (IBW) objective for the 2021-2027 funding period (project funding).
The following structural measures will make a significant contribution to reducing energy consumption as part of a comprehensive energy-efficient refurbishment of the sports hall:
- Insulation of the façade and base with a thermal insulation composite system
- Replacement of windows and doors
- Installation of heat pumps for energy generation
- Installation of radiant ceiling panels in the hall
- Renewal of the ventilation and air conditioning systems with heat recovery
- Renewal of the building automation system
Goal
The energy-efficient refurbishment of the Hans-Appel-Halle makes an important contribution to municipal climate protection through increased energy efficiency and an improved carbon footprint.
The aim is to significantly reduce resource consumption and thus the CO2 footprint of the building.
