Mortuary passport
Service description
Corpses may only be transported to places outside the Federal Republic of Germany with a mortuary passport. The passport is issued in several languages (German, English, French and Italian).Requirements
The mortuary pass may not be issued until the burial documents required for a burial in the ground have been received.
What documents are needed?
- Death certificate with note of the registry office about entry in the death register; otherwise restitution certificate
- Presentation of the death certificate
- In the case of non-natural death, the release of the public prosecutor's office must be available
- Certificate of proper burial
- Possibly embalming certificate
