Dear citizens,

Very few people think about what happens to the water when it goes down the drain when they open the tap or flush the toilet. Unfortunately, household waste is often disposed of in the same way without thinking about the consequences. Neither food waste nor solid or liquid waste should be disposed of down the drain. They pose a risk to drains, public pipes, sewage pumping stations and our environment.

We would like to ask you to be more careful when dealing with wastewater, as this not only avoids costs but also protects our environment.

Thank you very much!

Here is a sample list of what belongs where:

These things have no place in wastewater

Solid or liquid substances that do not belong in the sink or toilet

What they do

Where they belong

Ash

is deposited, does not decompose

Residual waste containers

Paints, solvents and chemicals etc.

Impair the wastewater treatment process, form explosive or toxic gases

Pollutant collection

Cat litter, bird sand

Leads to deposits and pipe blockages

Residual waste containers

Medication

can only be partially removed or not removed at all and thus enter the water cycle, pollute the environment and pose a risk to health

Pharmacy

Cement water

Settles, "set in concrete"

Get a specialist company

Engine oil and oily waste

poison the waste water

Return to trade

Plant protection products

poison the waste water

Pollutant collection

Cleaning agents (except environmentally friendly)

poison wastewater, corrode pipes and seals

Pollutant collection

Pesticides

poison the waste water

Pollutant collection

Edible oils from households

lead to deposits and pipe blockages

in a container in the residual waste garbage can

Leftovers

lead to blockages, attract rats

Compost or organic waste garbage can

Panty liners, tampons, pads, condoms, hair, diapers and ear sticks and much more.

Clog pipes, pumps and sewers - hinders and increases the cost of wastewater treatment
