    Landscape protection includes all measures for the special protection and care of nature and the landscape of a specific area.

    The objectives are the preservation, development or restoration of the

    • Performance and functionality of the natural balance,
    • regenerative capacity and sustainable usability of natural assets,
    • Diversity, distinctiveness, or beauty of the landscape,
    • special cultural and historical significance of the landscape,
    • special importance for recreation

    In order to protect landscapes, certain parts can be declared landscape conservation areas. In these landscape protection areas, all actions that change the character of the area, impair the landscape or the performance and functionality of the ecosystem or run counter to the special purpose of protection are prohibited.
    Landscape protection areas are designated in order to preserve or restore the typical natural character of the area and to safeguard it for use by future generations.
