Reburial
Service description
If the reburial of a deceased person within a cemetery or to another cemetery is intended, the provision of the new gravesite with the right of use must first be requested from the cemetery administration responsible for the new grave.Process flow
Depending on the administration, the request can be made informally or through a provided form, but should include the following information:- Name and address of the applicant
- name, date of birth and date of death of the deceased to be reburied
- Cemetery and designation of the grave site of the excavation
- Reason for planned reburial
If the reburial is to take place within the same cemetery:
The reburial permit and burial permit will be issued as soon as a death certificate and confirmation of the provision of the new grave site with clarification of the right of use of the cemetery administration.
If the reburial is to take place in an external cemetery:
The reburial permit is issued by the registrar's office as soon as a death certificate and a grave certificate (the confirmation of the provision of the new grave site) have been received from the regulatory authority of the new cemetery.
If the reburial is to take place from an external cemetery:
The grave certificate will be issued by the cemetery administration as soon as the confirmation of the provision of the new grave site and clarification of the right of use by the cemetery administration has been received.
Subsequently, the reburial permit is issued by the regulatory authority responsible for the previous gravesite. Afterwards, a burial permit is issued by the registry office (death certificate required for this).
