Radio installations - locations

The Federal Network Agency has set up a database on electromagnetic fields (EMF database) on the Internet that can be used free of charge.

From the description of the EMF database:

• of measurement locations of the EMF measurement series and
• of operating sites of radio equipment for which the BNetzA has issued a site certificate

The result of the search is displayed directly in the corresponding map section.

However, the EMF database is more than a cartographic representation of locations of radio installations and EMF measurement series of the Federal Network Agency. It also forms a platform for the publication of EMF measurement series of the state environment ministries.

For this purpose, the BNetzA created a special measurement regulation and coordinated it with the environment ministries of the federal states. With this common measurement regulation, a uniform quality standard for EMF measurements was introduced in Germany for the first time. Field strength measurements that comply with this quality standard can now be directly compared with each other and comply with both European and national requirements for the assessment of the protection of persons in electromagnetic fields.

In order to guarantee this quality standard, only the EMF measurement series commissioned by state environment ministries are invited to the EMF database in addition to the measurement series of the BNetzA.
