    Under water law, the term facilities includes, for example, bridges, buildings, pipelines, fences, walls, bank protections, or even composting areas.

    If such facilities are erected, removed (demolition) or substantially altered in the 10 m range of the shoreline of water bodies, including streams, roadside ditches, ponds, ponds, canals, etc., the project sponsor must have this project approved by the lower water authority in good time prior to the measure (see § 31 LWG in conjunction with § 36 WHG).

    In the case of buildings (e.g. single-family house), which require a building permit, the responsible building permit authority decides on the building permit in agreement with the responsible water authority (cf. § 31 para. 4 p. 2 LWG).

    Approval of facilities shall not be granted only if the project is expected to have a detrimental effect on the public welfare or to cause significant disadvantages, hazards, nuisances for other properties and facilities, which can neither be prevented nor compensated for by conditions and requirements.

    Installations on and in water bodies must not impair the ecological functions of the water bodies and must not deteriorate their natural or nature-like condition.

    Cost:

    The cost of issuing a permit for a facility is governed by the LVO
