Service description
In Rhineland-Palatinate, all students in all grades and year groups at general schools, full-time elective courses at vocational schools, and colleges can participate in the free learning materials/textbook lending program.
The system of textbook lending in Rhineland-Palatinate is subdivided into the free lending of learning materials (free lending) and lending for a fee (paid lending).
What are the fees?
In the case of paid borrowing, the fee depends on the textbooks borrowed. For a textbook used for one year, a fee of one third of the store price is charged. For a textbook used for two or three years, a fee of one-sixth of the store price is charged per school year.
What deadlines do I have to observe?
The period for registration for paid lending changes from year to year and depends on the date of the summer vacations. It is listed in the information sheet for borrowing for a fee. The leaflet is distributed to students at school shortly before the start of the registration period.
