Administrative offences
Service description
The administrative offenses for which the municipalities in Rhineland-Palatinate are responsible can be roughly subdivided as follows:
- General misdemeanors such as violations under the Hospitality Act, the State Building Code, the Immission Control Act, the Sunday and Public Holiday Act, the Registration Act, the Identity Card Act, the State Dog Act, local bylaws, etc.
- Stationary traffic (stopping and parking violations), violations under the Highway Code
- Flowing traffic (speeding)
In addition to the police, the cities and municipalities monitor both stationary and moving traffic in their respective areas. Administrative offence proceedings initiated are concluded by payment of a warning fine or punished by a penalty notice. The responsibility for municipal traffic monitoring lies with the public order offices of the cities and municipalities.
