Paying recurring contributions for traffic facilities

Please note in particular our information under:
  • Service description

Municipalities levy recurring contributions for the expansion of public roads, paths and squares (traffic facilities). Expansion includes all measures on facilities or installations created for the first time that serve the purpose of renewal, expansion, conversion or improvement.

As a property owner, however, you only bear part of the costs caused by municipal roads by paying development contributions. The necessary maintenance and repair measures are borne by the municipality alone. The municipality has to bear its own share of the contributory development measures, the so-called "municipal share". This is between 20 and 75 percent. It is determined by the volume of through traffic in relation to the total traffic volume in the respective road or billing unit.

The remaining part of the annual costs for the expansion of traffic facilities in a settlement unit is allocated to all property owners in the corresponding settlement unit when recurring road expansion contributions are levied. Settlement units can be the entire municipal area or parts of it. This depends on the size and structure of the respective municipality.

Special instructions for - Verbandsgemeinde Göllheim

The municipalities of Bubenheim and Dreisen levy recurring contributions. All other local communities in the Göllheim municipality levy one-off contributions.

You can find more information about the respective extension contributions of our local communities under the following link:

  • Requirements

All properties that can be used for construction or in a similar way and where there is the legal and actual possibility of an access road or access to one of the traffic facilities within the uniform public facility are subject to the obligation to pay contributions.

  • Legal basis

  • Appeal

You can lodge an appeal against the assessment notice. This has no suspensive effect.

  • What else should I know?

The collection of recurring contributions eliminates the high burden that is often associated with the collection of one-off contributions. The municipalities can therefore only levy one-off contributions in rare exceptional cases. The details of the collection of contributions are regulated by the municipalities.

You can apply for the contribution debt to be deferred or waived under certain conditions. You can also apply for payment in installments for one-off contributions.
